Aladdin City
It’s been a while since we’ve heard word of this magical new development, but it looks like plans for Aladdin City are ticking along nicely.
The spectacular location at Dubai Creek is now in “detailed design” stage, according to Dubai Municipality.
The development, inspired by the ancient legends of fictional heroes Aladdin and Sinbad, is made up of three golden structures designed to look like glimmering genie lamps.
“We have appointed Meinhardt Group as consultant and they are working on the design of the three buildings,” senior official Daoud Al Hajri told Arabian Business.its look like a whole new world.
Dubai Eye
You know the giant Ferris wheel they’re building off the coast of JBR? Yeah, well it’s been renamed from Dubai-I to Ain Dubai.
Why? Well, for the non-Arabic speakers, ‘Ayn’ is the sixteenth letter of the Arabic alphabet, and translates as ‘eye’.
The Ain Dubai will serve as the centrepiece of Bluewaters Island – a new Dhs6 billion project which will include a range of entertainment, hospitality, residential and retail zones as well as the Ferris wheel.
The Ain Dubai has reached a significant milestone in its construction, with the Ferris wheel’s hub and spindle recently lifted into place.
Mall of the World
Proposed mega project which would upon completion be the largest covered retail area in the world. Initial details of the project include having '100 hotels totaling 20,000 hotel rooms', a 3 million sq. ft. wellness district and a cultural center.
The centerpiece of the project is the 8 million sq. ft. retail center which will be enclosed by glass roof domes that will ensure a temperature controlled environment. The roof domes can be retracted during the cooler winter months.
The project is to be built in phases over ten years and reportedly will cost AED 25 billion.
The Universe
This is the Artificial Island in the shape of Milky Way Galaxy and Solar System, This project was announced in 2008 and to be completed between 2023 and 2028. Currently the Universe Project is on Hold. The universe will have 3,000 hectares of land and it takes 20 years to build.
Pearl of Dubai
The underwater tourism design company has recently completed designing a completely revolutionary five acre tourism site that will allow select waterfront resort development partners the ability to capture a slice of the global $3 billion dive and snorkel market.
The unique site is being designed to look like an ancient Lost City. Reef Worlds entertainment team have designed for blockbuster movies like Avatar and Pirates of the Caribbean.
